When it comes to wine, many people think that high-quality wines come with a hefty price tag. However, Kirkland Malbec wine proves this notion wrong. Produced by Vintner's Cellars in California, this wine is made from grapes sourced from all over the state and crafted in small batches.

The Kirkland Malbec wine features rustic packaging depicting the Andes mountains, making it an attractive gift option. In fact, one taster joked that they would rather 'save' the wine for themselves. The wine's affordability is a major draw, with a price point of just $6.99.

Our team was impressed by the wine's rich and complex flavor profile, which features notes of oak, red fruits, berries, and spices. When asked to rate the wine on a scale of one to five, six out of seven tasters gave it a perfect score.

Winemaker Sergio Case produced this Malbec especially for Costco, using French oak barrels from the Broquel winery in Mendoza, Argentina. Our bottle was from the 2017 vintage, and we were blown away by its quality and value.

While our wine tasting was not comprehensive, with only seven Kirkland bottles available at our local warehouse, we were able to try a few options and overwhelmingly preferred the three red wines we tried to the four white wines. In particular, the Kirkland Malbec stood out as the top wine of the bunch.
